Birthday Party Planning!
My birthday is coming up in a couple months, and I’m actually being proactive this year and planning an actual party, instead of deciding at the last minute to go to the local bar for drinks and some good food like I did last year. A lot is going into this. Where do I want it? If it’s at my house we can’t do a cook out because our grill doesn’t work, so where do we look to have it catered? How many people are actually going to show up, and will the number make it worth it to go to an actual catering company? Or would ShopRite catering be better? Or, the best option, what if we did it at the golf club my grandparents manage? A little more space, great scenery, and amazing food, even if we were just going to do hamburgers and hot dogs and maybe even chicken breast sandwiches, because in all honesty, my grandmother makes the best burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. But maybe I’m biased.
There’s also another incentive to have it there. I’m sending invitations to a few people who are pretty well known in the public eye. Celebrities if you will (For my experiences with the celebrities I’ve met, or interacted with on Twitter and Instagram see my Celebrity Roll page, coming soon!). This is one of those fantastical scenarios I have in my head. Katie Couric showing up at my grandparent’s golf course as a surprise. Because that is logically exactly how it’s going to happen. But in my mind…. if you don’t ask the answer is always “no”. So I’m asking, and I’ll probably look crazy, and I know there’s a snowball’s chance in hell any of these people will actually come to the party, but that’s what I do. I dream.
